Ryan Rockwell
Born 8:16:30 PM, 15 December 2006, La Jolla, California. 8 pounds, 12.2 ounces (3,975g). 20" (51 cm). The technical gobbledygook after each shot is the equipment I used for each photo. Many photographer friends ask. (< < back to Newest Photos and Index) April and May 2007 31 May 2007, Thursday On his changing thing. (both: Nikon D40, Sigma 30mm f/1.4. Giraffe bedding by Gerry, The Baby Guy, (562) 696-1861. Tell him we sent you.)
26 May 2007, Saturday
Ryan Laughing! (.SWF) This is the first he's ever laughed this hard, this continuously. (Canon SD700, always in my pocket ready to shoot anything, even video! Converted to SWF in Visual Hub, darned if I know how to get it to stop looping. Laughter is contagious.)
At Great-Grandma Mimi's house. They have the same birthday!
Eating. (Both stills: Nikon D40, Nikon 18-200mm VR, Nikon SB-400 flash, bounced)
23 May 2007, Wednesday
(Nikon D40, Nikon 18-200mm VR, Nikon SB-400 flash, bounced)
Baby Ryan in motion! (Canon SD700)
20 May 2007, Sunday Ryan in His Crib.
Ryan Checking out His Giraffe Bedding. (both with Nikon D40, Nikon 18-200mm VR, Nikon SB-400 flash, bounced. Giraffe bedding by Gerry, The Baby Guy, (562) 696-1861. Tell him we sent you.)
19 May 2007, Saturday At Aliso Creek Beach (NikonD40, Nikon 18-200mm VR)
15 May 2007, Tuesday Ryan and Mom come to visit daddy's office. (Nikon D40, bounced SB-400, Nikon 18-200mm VR)
02 May 2007, Tuesday I flipped over Ryan and he liked it. (Canon SD700, no flash, auto ISO at 200 and Grain Surgery. Roll mouse over to see without Grain Surgery.)
22 April 2007, Sunday, 7:30 PM Ryan flips himself around from lying on his back to his stomach. Daddy missed it: daddy was vacuuming the house. Baby Ryan rolled onto his left side, then his stomach, and smiled at mom.
14 April 2007, Saturday
Ryan's first food other than milk. It's watery rice water, and you can see how excited he was about it. (Fuji S5 at ISO 400, 18-200mm VR, bounced SB-600)
08 April 2007, Easter Sunday
Ryan Rockwell, Future Wrestler. Ryan is less than four months old, and the girl is seven months old. Ryan is headed for a prominent career in wrestling. (Canon SD700, sucky direct flash) Ryan and Pops. (Canon SD700, no flash)
06 April 2007, Friday
(Fuji S5 at ISO 200, 18-55mm II, bounced SB-400). Ryan's out of focus because mom is swinging forward and back on the rocker and Daddy has the camera set at too low an ISO.)
(Fuji S5 at ISO 1,600, 18-55mm II, direct SB-400, just to see how bad it looks compared to bounce. Ryan's opinion is obvious.)
Mommy asked "Anyone who loves Daddy, raise your hand!" Ryan catches on quickly: he raised both hands, and both feet! (Actually the Mrs. asked something else. Fuji S5 at ISO 800, 18-200mm VR, bounced SB-400)
Maturity contest, round one.
Round two: eating Ryan's hand.
Round three: Ryan mimicking silly daddy. (maturity contest shots: Fuji S5 at ISO 800, 18-200mm VR, bounced SB-400, snap by mom)
05 April 2007, Thursday Ryan's bath time. (Fuji S5 - holy cow - much better skin tone than D200 version below:)
As shot on D200. Both cameras in AUTO WB, high saturation, auto contrast, overcast window light in light yellow and white painted room.
04 April 2007, Wednesday Ryan's first corporate head shot, strapped into his racing seat. (Canon SD700, no flash)
Ryan on my chair. Halogen home lighting, light yellow walls in room, looking down on chair from above. Note how the Fuji S5 looks better in AUTO WB than any of the others set much cooler.
03 April 2007, Tuesday Ryan's favorite activity: eating. (Canon SD700, no flash)
At a San Diego franchise location of the huge Chipotle taco chain, based in Colorado. They spew out great fast food, but the synthetic in-store "we're not a big chain" branding flies in the face of the fact that Chipotle is a big corporation, not a place that you'll ever meet the owner as you will at San Diego's numerous family-run single-location taco places. (Ryan has even met Ralph Rubio at our local Rubio's.) (Canon SD700, no flash)
