Burros

Friendly Burros along Route 66, Arizona © 2002 Ken Rockwell.com. All rights reserved.

Tee hee hee. I stopped at a roadside Indian trading post along Route 66 and this couple came out of the hills to greet me. I wondered what treats I might have in the van to share with them. I realized I had a bag of apples, which horses love. I took a wild guess that burros might also enjoy them, and I was correct. Smart people have pointed out that this was a good way to loose a finger and that those smart people feed apples with an open palm instead of fingers like I did.

This was a high point of the trip for me. Wow! Wild burros coming to visit and share my apples!

You got me. I don't even have a TV, but if I did I'd probably watch Animal Planet all day and night.
