Lens Comparison

Index of individual test pages SIZE I measured these dimensions with a digital caliper. They probably will not match anything published elsewhere, since this is my original research.
* at 50mm. 3.812" (96.79mm) long at 18mm.
WEIGHT I measured these weights with a digital balance. They probably will not match anything published elsewhere, since this is my original research.
** 10.235 oz. or 290.0 g with JCII inspection sticker. The Zeiss seems like the heaviest 50mm, but that doesn't mean it's the toughest. The Zeiss was originally made by Cosina for the Contax SLRs, and has a 58mm filter thread and a deeper, longer front. There's more metal ahead of the front element, which makes it longer and heavier. PLUG I spent almost two months shooting and writing this comparison of 50mm lenses. No one pays me for this. If you find this as helpful as a book you might have had to buy or a workshop you may have had to take, feel free to help me write more with a donation. Thanks for reading!
