Big Boy Ryan Rockwell

< < Back to newest photos!

Baby Katie Rockwell
See my sister Katie's website, too!

Born 8:16:30 PM, 15 December 2006, La Jolla, California.

8 pounds, 12.2 ounces (3,975g). 20" (51 cm).

The technical gobbledygook after each shot is the equipment I used for each photo. Many photographer friends ask.

The mysterious scab on the inside curve of Ryan's nose is because he accidentally dipped his head down while Ryan and Katie insisted on Monday night that I pull them around on the carpet. They thought it was the funniest thing on Earth when each grabbed one of my ankles and said "go, Dada, go!" They wouldn't let me stop, and I cautioned them that they might get hot as I dragged them all over our condo on the carpet.

Ryan on the Jumpy thing

Ryan on the jumpy thing. (Fuji Velvia 100, Contax G2, Zeiss 45mm lens, Contax A2 filter, Contax TLA140 flash, as-shot. The G2's TTL circuits do an awful job for fill-flash, usually overexposing.)

Ryan on mom's back

Ryan on mom's back at Disneyland. (Fuji Velvia 100, Contax G2, Zeiss 45mm lens, Contax A2 filter, Contax TLA140 flash. These colors looked even worse on-film; I had to twist it in Photoshop with a lot of complex color curves layers: this film and A2 (81B) filter goes psycho with magentas. Velvia 100 isn't the ticket for people photos, and the G2's TTL circuits do an awful job for fill-flash, overexposing even though Contax claims the system is capable of "perfectly balanced fill exposure every time.")
