Photographed entirely with a Canon SD960 IS pocket camera.

Today we went to the antique aircraft fly-in at the Bayport Aerodrome.

This is where everyone flies-in with their classic airplanes, and flies around all day long.

My mom's been flying for over 50 years; she's seen it all.

I turned-on the flash of the Canon SD960 IS to light the sign, which otherwise would have been backlit and therefore looked black in this picture.

My mom learned on one of these back in the good old days.

A huge buffet was offered in one of the hangers.

This isn't a shot of happy aviators and aviatrices chowing down; it's a study of light. At this time of the afternoon, the light gets great on Long Island. Look at the light streaming in. It's awesome! When you get light like this, everything looks brilliant, regardless of what it is in ordinary light.

I turned-on the flash of the Canon SD960 IS to light the people in shadow, who otherwise would have been nothing more than black silhouettes.
