Photographed entirely with a Canon SD960 IS pocket camera.

Today I attended Canon's press conference at the American Museum of Natural History, where the astounding Canon S90 and its cousin the G11 were first shown to the world.

After the press conference, we scoped out the Hayden Planetarium, to which my Dad had taken me years ago.

After the planetarium, we went to see the American Museum of Natural History. The American Museum of Natural History is extraordinary. It takes a week to see everything. We only spent a few hours, and couldn't even hit the highlights. If you visit New York, leave at least a full day to enjoy the museum.

Why risk certain death climbing trees and waiting for squirrels, when you can seen them in the museum, complete with good lighting?

As kids, we all went to the museum and loved the dinosaurs!

It was really dark in this hall. The Canon SD960 IS pulled ISO 400 in Auto ISO, and still needed 1/2 a second at f/2.8. The whale was still very dark, so I dodged (lightened) it with a curves adjustment layer mask in Photoshop, deliberately wanting it to look almost as if it's glowing.

After the museum, we rushed back to Adorama to see the store again.
