Route 66, Pasadena to Rialto

Today we started in Pasadena.

We then crawled around under the bridge. We saw no trolls, they must have left at dawn.

From the Aztec Motel, we headed along Route 66 to Monrovia. The sun came up enough that the colors weren't screaming, so back to black-and-white until I see some real colors.

Is this 1958 lens sharp enough for you? It is a design introduced in 1948.

We headed further out along Route 66, and looked for hobos.

We weren't finding any hoboes, but there were lots of Pandrol pieces floating around.

Even more fun, by grabbing these snaps from my iPod's screen (hold the Home button and tap the top power-off button), these files record the location and time as EXIF data along with the image's own clock for cataloging my film shot on 1950s cameras.

 

After finding no hobos, we headed to the crowning glory of Route 66 in the Los Angeles area, the Wigwam Motel!

It got late enough in the afternoon that color came back out, so back to a color camera.
