The Oben CFT-6194L is a sturdy mid-sized carbon-fibre tripod with a twist: its anodized aluminum alloy center column pulls up and out, and then re-inserts at a 90º angle so you can move your camera in or out laterally over flames, your desk, a big hole, a fast-flowing stream or anything where you'd rather not set the legs.
More than just a great way to hold a camera over a stream or your desk without covering any part of your desk, this also makes a very sturdy microphone stand with the proper adapters.
Press the unlock button on the bottom of the center column so you can pull it up and out. Poke it back in at 90º and you're all set.
The lateral column locks at any position in or out. Here it is less extended:

Sturdy, solid and light weight.
Well made: all the twist locks work positively so legs and columns slide and lock smoothly, and the friction of the leg pivots arrived perfectly adjusted for easy use without collapsing.
Non-rotating legs and column make it easy to set and strike.
Legs open to any of three locking angles or anything in between.
"One touch" leg angle locks, just press to release.
Column locking lever pulls out to allow it to rotate and avoid interference (on left):

Be careful not to over-extend the lateral column with a heavy camera.
Hint: Align the lateral column directly over one of the legs for greatest stability. Also if at lower heights, consider extending the length and angle of the leg running under the lateral column.
