Baby Ryan Rockwell
< < Back to newest Ryan photos
Born 8:16:30 PM, 15 December 2006, La Jolla, California. 8 pounds, 12.2 ounces (3,975g). 20" (51 cm). The technical gobbledygook after each shot is the equipment I used for each photo. Many photographer friends ask. 30 April 2009, Thursday Ryan weighs in at 13.6kg (29 pounds, 15 oz.), fully clothed. This was at the emergnecy room, after Ryan claimed he had eaten an A76 battery. Luckily it turned out that he was only kidding: we found the battery under something else the next day after his ER X-rays turned out negative. Brat.
29 April 2009, Wednesday Ryan finds the idiotic left-handed ignition key slot in mom's Porsche, and puts in the key to unlock the steering wheel so he can drive. Sometime in April, 2009 As shot by Ryan from his stroller on his VTech Kidizoom 773.
25 April 2009, Saturday Ryan at the mall. (Nikon D40 with some sort of flash, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S, P mode chose f/6.3 at 1/500, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB.)
(Nikon D40 with some sort of flash, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S, P mode chose f/11 at 1/500, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB.) OK, enough with the cars. Ryan has been able to drive our cars since he was abotu 18 months old. Big deal; his Grandma Rockwell has been soloing in airplanes with multiple FAA ratings since she was a teenager. We've been training Ryan in basic heavy construction and earth moving equipment. Here he is relaxing in a small machine requiring little skill: (Nikon D40 with some sort of flash, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S, P mode chose f/7.1 at 1/500, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB.) Now let's see Ryan hop into a Case CX75SR tier-III certified heavy excavator, which weighs 18,000 pounds and is rated to lift over four tons of dirt at a time. The CX75SR can level moderate-sized home in just seconds. Ryan opens the door.
Ryan hops into the seat.
Ryan attaches his safty belt, and
Ryan is all set and ready to get to work moving earth. (Nikon D40 with some sort of flash, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S, P mode chose f/4 at 1/500, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB.) (Nikon D40 with some sort of flash, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S, P mode chose f/4.5 at 1/500, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB.) (Nikon D40 with some sort of flash, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S, P mode chose f/4.5 at 1/500, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB.) Parents from other parts of the world may think it unusually competitive that our two-year old has already completed vocational training like this, but the world isn't getting any easier. Heck, our neighbor's kid is already certified and driving Caterpillar 797B on paying jobs. Ryan also hops up into his high chair all by himself. He likes to eat!
22 April 2009, Wednesday THe first thing Ryan did this morning when he got up was to say NONI! NONI! and walk out to the car, unlock it, climb in his car seat and says "bye-bye" to mom, continuing to demand to go see Noni, his grandma. Ryan can count to two and a half.
20 April 2009, Monday Ryan Splashing, Yay! (great snap by mom with Casio EX-Z750.)
Ryan and his car track. Thanks Noni!! (snap by mom with Casio EX-Z750.)
12 April 2009, Easter Sunday Dad, as shot by Ryan on his VTech Kidizoom 773.
09 April 2009, Thursday Ryan gets some Easter chocolate early. (Nikon D40, P mode chose f/4 at 1/60, Auto ISO chose ISO 280, Auto -3 WB, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S, Nikon SB-400 flash bounced off ceiling.)
08 April 2009, Wednesday Ryan loves sweeping. (Chinon Auto2001 camera ($3.50 at a local thrift store), Fill Flash ON, Kodak Gold 100-8 film, (expired 2007/06/01), NCPS proces and scan.)
07 April 2009, Tuesday Ryan washes his hands after lunch. (Nikon D40, P mode chose f/4 at 1/60, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB, Nikon SB-400 and 1/2 CTO gel, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S.) Ryan puts on one of mom's hair things. (Nikon D40, P mode chose f/4.5 at 1/80, Auto ISO chose ISO 200, Auto -3 WB, Nikon SB-400 and 1/2 CTO gel, Nikon 35mm f/1.8 AF-S.)
05 April 2009, Sunday Ryan recognizes genius. Daddy changed a light bulb in his playroom and another light bulb in our bedroom, each after Ryan pointed them out. Now that Daddy has changed the bulbs, Ryan always points to the operating light fixtures and exclaims "Daddy Light ON!!!" about a million times. Ryan now knows how to hook our dog Buster to his leash, open the door and take him for a walk. Daddy still has to bag. Ryan meets a French Bulldog while shopping at Target. (LEICA M3 and collapsible SUMMICRON 50mm f/2 (both from 1955), LEICAMETER MR-4 meter (1980), f/2 at 1/25 second hand-held, violently unsuitable Fuji Velvia 50 and 81A filter under nasty flourescent light, hideously poor correction in Photoshop, great expression on Ryan's face almost saves it.)
