This Robus RTH-1050 is a New-York-City-designed, Chinese-made heavy-duty ball head built to replace Really Right Stuff.
It's very nicely made and looks and feels like Really Right Stuff, without the made-in-U.S.A. price tag.
Really Right Stuff has a five-year warranty, while this Robus ball head has a Ten-Year Warranty — although I've never worn out any of my tripods, even the cheap one my dad gave me back in 1973 as a kid.

I got my Robus RTH-1050 at B&H.
Like most heads, this is universal and works everywhere.
It has a standard ⅜″ × 16 TPI bottom socket which attaches to all standard tripod legs made for about the past 100 years, from the gigantic ROBUS RC-5570 to the tabletop Oben CTT-1000, as well as everything else from Manfrotto, Gitzo, Really Right Stuff and Bogen.
It takes standard Arca-Swiss plates, and comes with one with a ¼″ × 20 TPI thread as shown.

To attach your camera, undo the top knob, remove the plate, screw the plate to the bottom of your camera, re-attach the plate to the head and tighten the top knob. As with all Arca-Swiss plates, you may tighten it at just about any forward or back position; the plate will slide forward and back until you tighten the knob.
The little knob on the bottom left above locks or unlocks the horizontal (panning) rotation.
The big knob on the right locks or unlocks the ball. Be sure to hold your camera when unlocking to avoid having it flop over.
The FRICTION setting inside the big knob lets you set a residual level of drag. This sets how much drag remains when you unlock the ball. Set this so your camera moves smoothly when you unlock the ball. If you set it too loose your camera will just flop around when unlocked, and if set too tight will make it hard to reposition your camera. Set it just right and ahhhh, loosen the ball and it's easy to make precise position adjustments.
Robus suggests if you can't unlock the head, to turn the tension dial to the minimum, then tighten the big locking knob all the way clockwise, then when you loosen the big locking knob the head should unlock.
Robus cautions not to use the head when it's wet and not to put it in salt water.
