Baby Ryan Rockwell (sister Katie Rockwell)
Born 8:16:30 PM, 15 December 2006, La Jolla, California.
8 pounds, 12.2 ounces (3,975g). 20" (51 cm).
The technical gobbledygook after each shot is the equipment I used for each photo. Many photographer friends ask.

Ryan's such a piggy-poo (like his dad) that he's decided to go straight to the source! Enough of those little bottles! (Casio EX-V8)
Ryan's favorite thing in the whole world is to play in our cars. This morning, after he had a bottle, he grabbed my thumb, and dragged me down to the garage where he played in each of the cars. (Casio EX-V8, "soft" flash.)
Ryan working on an apple. (Nikon D3, NEUTRAL with +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto WB, 50mm f/1.4 AF-D, SB-400 flash bounced off ceiling, Program auto chose 1/60 at f/5.6, Auto ISO chose ISO 200.)

"This corn better be glad Dad's taking pictures, because it's HISTORY!!!"
Ryan ate it all! (Nikon D3, NEUTRAL with +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto A2 WB, 50mm f/1.4 AF-D, Aperture-priority chose 1/125 at f/2, Auto ISO chose ISO 1,100, ISO 1,400 and ISO 1,600, respectively.)

Ryan likes film, but not quite in the same way photographers do. (Nikon D3, NEUTRAL and +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto A6 WB, 28-80mm G at 70mm, f/5.3 at 1/60, SB-400, Auto ISO chose ISO 200.)

Ryan has grown two inches this weekend. He is now tall enough to turn the lights ON as well as OFF, tapping Decora switches. He also can grab the remote control from the top of mom's 300-pound CRT HDTV.
Ryan's vocabulary expands. He can mumble:
Buster (our big dog)
And Ryan understands the words:
Nipple (if you say this near him, expect a couple of purple nurples)
Baby (kisses mom's tummy, holding baby Katie)
Nose (gets your nose twisted)
Lunch at Olive Garden. (Nikon D3, NEUTRAL and +1 saturation picture control, normal ADR, auto A6 WB, 28-80mm G at 80mm and 63mm, f/5.6 and f/5.3 at 1/125, Auto ISO chose ISO 2,500 and ISO 1,400, respectively.)

Ryan is now a leader of men: he's learned to grab our thumb (or toe) and pull us to something he wants us to do for him. Why do it himself when he can have someone else do it for him? As a leader, he's learned that far more is accomplished by guiding others than trying to do it yourself.

Ryan's actually much better with a chop stick than this photo implies. (Canon SD790)
04 May 2008, Sunday
Noni, Ryan and Pops getting ready to go for a ride. (Nikon D3, (NEUTRAL and +1 Saturation?), normal ADR, 24-70mm f/2.8 AF-S at 24mm, Program auto chose f/5.6 at 1/125, SB-400, Auto ISO chose ISO 200.)
Ryan eating an apple. He can do it, too! (Nikon D3, (NEUTRAL and +1 Saturation?), normal ADR, 24-70mm f/2.8 AF-S at 48mm, Program auto chose f/2.8 at 1/125, Auto ISO chose ISO 3,200. If I had brought the 50mm f/1.4, I'd have been able to shoot at ISO 800 instead.)

Having fancy tools doesn't mean you know what to do with them. (Don't worry, mom only feeds the dogs fresh, filtered and purified water. Canon SD770)
